Let it be known that, from this day, the Dragon of Dominion shall no longer restrict travel between the worlds of Dominion. Darkhawk's people are free to travel as they will, to meet with each other and freely exchange ideas and knowledge in the spirit of ensuring the further advancement of Dominion and its people...
The Dragon was born as a security measure, a means of making sure that none of the colonists got ideas above their station, and took control of the kingdom before I arrived. Since then, I've been granting "licenses" to a limited number of space-pilots, applying a subtle psionic "marker" that makes the Dragon ignore the licensee and their ship, but now that we're becoming a major power outside our own boundaries, we need more ships, and more crew. At this rate, I'd be spending all day granting the "Steersman's Mark" to people...
For thousands of years, the Dragon has guarded Dominion, and guarded it well, so it was a rather momentous occasion to go out to its "nest" and telepathically tell it to sleep until (and if) it was called for.
Times change, and the world changes with them. People change too, as I've learned recently myself. There's no adventure to be had in keeping things as they were, and it seesm I'm not the only one to feel that way - Mane-of-Night has been receiving a number of special orders from local craftsmen in the last few weeks, for example, and one of them has a talent for making whips, according to the Hellion. Interesting - but that's Mane-of-Night's business, and I won't pry, unless Dominion becomes threatened.
In the meantime, I've been keeping in touch with "the guys", and there're hints of something major in the near future. Ooooooh...
