Just in case anyone's starting to get confused...
Darkhawk - Mistress of Dominion - a "failed experiment" who became a goddess to some, a pain in the neck to others, and the last thing my enemies ever see. Not such an ugly duckling after all, eh?
Most likely to remind you of...Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy The Vampire Slayer), only cuter - and a red-head. Most of the time.
Most likely quote - "And I shall not be dark, but beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night! Fair as the Sea and the Sun and the Snow upon the Mountain! Dreadful as the Storm and the Lightning! Stronger than the foundation of the earth! All shall love me and despair!"
Worst question to ask - "So you think you're a goddess, do ya?"
Mane-of-Night - Mystalornan (slim, pale, pointed ears, large eyes - an elf, basically). Telepath (but not as powerful as me). A bit too serious sometimes, but I love the way she dresses. Skin-tight black PVC never looked so good. :P About as good a friend as I'm likely to get.
Most likely to remind you of...a cross between Lucy Liu and Liv Tyler playing Arwen, with hair that simply doesn't stop.
Most likely quote - "Oh shut up, Darkhawk."
Worst question to ask - "That hair all your own...?" (closely followed by the flash-frying of the questioner's brain-cells...)
The Hellion - Big, red, scales, horns, forked tail, big bony spikes on her elbows. Mystalornan too, but she chose to hang on to a demonic form. A follower of the demon goddess Tylugarna, and therefore not always popular. Handy muscle when you need it.
Most likely to remind you of...a ten-foot tall hybrid of the Lucys - Liu and Lawless.
Most likely quote - a long, drawn-out catlike hiss...
Worst question to ask - "Have you ever considered turning to Christ?" A VERY bad idea, 'cause she has ACTUALLY met her goddess. So have I...
Myromar - Smart, quiet - dead. Now lives in the computers of my flagship as a hybrid psionic-digital entity, and copies of her are to found just about everywhere. Her people messed with their kids, replacing parts of their brains with computers. If there's anything I need to know about, I ask her first. Death's been good to her, it seems - she's learned how to smile, for a start.
Most likely to remind you of...errr...good question. Those holograms out of Star Wars...? A less excitable C3-PO? Myromar's just...well, Myromar.
Most likely quote - "Shall I run another diagnostic series on the secondary drive baffles?"
Worst question to ask - Anything that results in a drawn-out, over-complicated answer. DON'T do it, please.
Frostfire - Big, blue, no scales. She helped me out a while back, and earned herself a kingdom of Dominion in the process. A former warlord for "The Horde" - indispensible when the going gets tough. Not someone you like when you first meet her - that is, if she lets you live to meet her twice.
Oh, and she has three eyes. The third one stays closed most of the time, tho'.
Most likely to remind you of...Chyna out of the WWF, only MUCH bigger. And currently gainly employed :P
Most likely quote - "You don't know how lucky you are to have me on your side..."
Worst question to ask - "Figurehead of The Horde, eh? Must've been a bitch being one of those losers, eh?"
The Dracbrood - A species I saved from extinction. The spawn of the union of a demi-god and an elder dragon. Real ice-breakers at parties. Good in a fight. They adore me. I seem to bring that out in some folks...
Most likely to remind you of...nine-foot tall supermodels with snake heads, tails, and dragon wings instead of arms.
Most likely quote - "What do you want us to kill, Mistressssss...?"
Worst question to ask - "Just how DO you get into those boots without hands, then?" Answer - they have SLAVES...
The People of Dominion - A mixed bunch, now that we rescued all those folk from the Nether-Realm of Kraan (LONG story). Most are Hybrine, the descendants of a race of genetically-engineered warriors who pissed a lot of folk off by not becoming extinct. I sorted that problem out by removing them, sending them back fifteen thousand years and letting them colonise Dominion. By the time I arrived to take control, I had a ready-made population of devoted followers. Now who else can say that?
Most likely to remind you of...an adoring throng, of various shapes and colours.
Most likely quote - "Darkhawk! Darkhawk! Darkhawk...!"
Worst question to ask - "How many of you think Darkhawk sucks?" (followed by a brutal execution)
The Combined Territories - A big region of "normal" space, that used to be ruled by two interstellar super-powers. Emphasis on the used. Dominion came along to help them out when they pretty much became no-mans-land after an intergalactic war. Yours Truly became their hero. Yay me.
Most likely to remind you of...stars, planets, that kind of thing. Lotsa grateful alien folk.
Most likely quote - "Stop picking on us..."
Worst question to ask - "Who thinks the Thrakmorians and the Kirugarans REALLY let you guys down?"
The Mystalornans - Mystalorn is the centre of all magic in the universe, apparently. It used to be called Ealvonhai, and I was born there, went off on my own, went crazy, got killed (as far as the locals were concerned - but that was where the Darkhawk story REALLY started)... I changed in the process, and Ealvonhai went and copied me, changing from the most desirable holiday destination in the Confederacy to "Planet of The Elves". Mystalornans vary greatly, from infuriatingly straight-laced and mystical to...well, kinky (see Mane-of-Night). We get on well, in general.
Most likely to remind you of...half of the cast of "Lord of The Rings", only the ears are real. And bigger.
Most likely quote - A whole lot of meditation, I guess.
Worst question to ask - "So, what did you think of the Lord of The Rings movies?"
Konjantek - Former evil mastermind. He died, and got better. A few times. Seems to be a popular career move, in my experience. Big, dark, ominous. Dominion wouldn't have happened without his support - he made most of the population, for a start. My Obi-Wan Kenobi, perhaps - although to most folk, he's more like Darth Vader. Heh - Darth Vader meets Willy Wonka, more like :P
Most likely to remind you of..."The Toecutter" out of the first Mad Max movie meets Captain Picard.
Most likely quote - "My experience spans two million years, and in that time, I have learned things best left forgotten. Be thankful I keep that knowledge to myself..."
Worst question to ask - "Why don't you stay dead?"
